The KinoPuzzle Project seeks to discover how to combine the expressive power of the collage surface or interface with the representational depth and flexibility of the digital database to present new documentary forms in the digital age. Such works could offer advantages in terms of open-ended associational pleasures and constructive learning. To further advance the art of film digital collage, the KinoPuzzle Project combines visual strategies from fine art collage, meta-data coding practices from ethnography, and interaction techniques and form factors from tangible user interface work. to create a new format of documentary experiences for individuals and small groups.
